“I want you to remember the feeling, not just the photo.”
My Approach
I don’t expect you to show up already knowing exactly what to do in front of a camera — that’s my job.
My sessions are relaxed, guided, and focused more on real connection than perfect posing. I’ll help direct you the entire time without making things feel stiff or overly staged. The goal is for you to actually enjoy the experience instead of stressing about it.
I pay attention to the little details, but I also know some of the best moments happen naturally in the middle of the movement, laughter, and chaos. Whether you’re super comfortable in front of the camera or completely camera shy, I want your photos to feel genuine, easy, and true to you.
Experience
Photography has taken me to mountaintops at sunset, quiet backroads, wedding venues, open fields, downtown streets, and everywhere in between. I’ve had the privilege of documenting some of the biggest moments in people’s lives along with the smaller seasons they never want to forget.
Over the years, I’ve learned that the best images come from real connection, trust, and simply letting people settle into the moment. Every session is different, and I genuinely love getting to tell each story in a way that feels personal to the people in front of my camera.
Meet the Photographer
I’m Blair— the photographer behind VBT Photography.
I’m based in the mountains of Northwest North Carolina where a lot of my inspiration naturally comes from. I’ve always been drawn to things that feel emotional, nostalgic, and a little cinematic — changing seasons, backroads, old music, storms rolling through the mountains, and the way certain memories stay with you years later. I think all of that naturally shapes the way I see people and the way I photograph them.
Photography started for me over 10 years ago, and somewhere along the way it became so much more than just taking photos. I fell in love with documenting people in a way that feels honest to who they are and preserving seasons of life that pass by faster than we realize.
Outside of photography, I’m happiest at home in the sunshine when it’s hot outside, surrounded by my dogs and horses. I’ve always loved a quieter life — being outdoors, slow evenings at home, long summer days, road trips through the mountains, music playing in the background, and finding beauty in everyday moments most people overlook.
I’m also someone who pays attention to the little things. The way someone reaches for another person’s hand without thinking about it. The nervous excitement before walking down the aisle. The laughter in between photos. The personality people start to show once they settle in and stop worrying about the camera. Those are the moments I care most about preserving.
More than anything, I want the people I photograph to feel something when they look back at their images years from now — not just see what the moment looked like, but remember how it felt.
If you’re looking for photography that feels genuine, elevated, and uniquely yours, I’d love to hear your story.
